ISSUE:

Communication problems or no modem pulse/lights

If you are experiencing communication problems with your Network LTC® Plus satellite, and/or the Standard Modem is not lighting up, follow these steps to troubleshoot the issue:

  • Replace both fuses on the Standard Modem, if possible (0.75 Amp).
  • Check the fuse connectors for corrosion.
  • Verify the fuse connectors that hold each of the fuses are not touching. This will cause a short.
  • Double check that the address is correct via the Timing Mechanism.
  • Check for cable/connector corrosion.
  • The Standard Modem, Modem Cable, signal wires, and Timing Mechanism should swapped, one at a time, with those from a working satellite to see if the problem follows any of these components—if it does, that component should be repaired or replaced.

If the issue still exists, run a test of the Timing Mechanism and Standard Modem functions using the CAL (Calibration Mode) feature of the Timing Mechanism program. View Calibration Mode instructions here.
