ISSUE:

Timing Mechanism is dead

If the Timing Mechanism in your Toro Network LTC® Plus cabinet appears dead, or is not receiving any power, you first need to check the two LEDs on the Power Distribution Board. You will troubleshoot differently depending on how they are illuminated.

If both LEDs on the Power Distribution Board are illuminated, begin troubleshooting the issue by checking the voltages going from the Power Distribution Board out to the Timing Mechanism:

  • Using a multi-meter, check for approximately 14V DC between the black and white wires, where they connect to the Power Distribution Board.
  • If the voltage is incorrect, the Power Distribution Board should be repaired or replaced with a new one.
  • If the voltage is correct, the Data Cable is likely malfunctioning and should be replaced with a new one.

If one or both of the LEDs on the Power Distribution Board are not illuminated, troubleshoot the issue by following the steps below:

  • Using a multi-meter, check for approximately 14V AC between the white and red wires, where they connect to the Power Distribution Board. Then, check for 24-26V AC between the green and black wires, where they connect to the Power Distribution Board.
  • Check for the same voltages on the other side of the cable. Check for approximately 14V AC between the white and red wires where they connect to the Power Supply. Then, check for 24-26V AC between the green and black wires, where they connect to the Power Supply.
  • You now have two sets of measurements, one for the Power Distribution Board-end and one for the Power Supply-end.
  • If both sets of measurements are correct, the Power Distribution Board should be repaired or replaced with a new one.
  • If the voltages at the Power Supply-end are correct, but the voltages at the Power Distribution Board-end are not correct, the cable must be replaced.
  • If 14V AC is not present at the Power Supply, check the 4-amp circuit breaker. If it is not blown, but the main power switch is on and the power feeding the satellite is known to be good, the Power Supply should be reconditioned.
  • If 24-26V AC is not present at the Power Supply, check the 3.2-amp fuse. If it is not blown, but the main power switch is on and the power feeding the satellite is known to be good, the Power Supply should be reconditioned.
