ISSUE:

No power or no red LED on Receiver/Decoder Module

To troubleshoot this issue, you must check that the Power Transformer is producing the proper voltage:

  • With a Voltmeter, measure the voltage between the black and orange wires that feed the Receiver/Decoder Module. The voltage should be should be 12-13 volts AC. These wires should be unplugged before testing.
  • Measure the voltage between the black and red wires feeding the Receiver/Decoder Module. The voltage should be 24-28 volts AC.
  • If both these voltages are correct, the Receiver/Decoder Module is likely damaged and should be replaced with a new one.
  • If only one of these voltages is correct, the Power Transformer should be replaced with a new one.
  • If neither of these voltages are correct, either the Power Transformer is damaged or the power going into the Power Transformer may be compromised.
