ISSUE:

One or more stations are not turning on or are stuck on

When experiencing this issue, first troubleshoot the Switch & Surge Board:

  • Swap the suspected malfunctioning Switch & Surge Board with a known operational Switch & Surge Board. If the symptoms follow the original Switch & Surge Board, it should be replaced with a new one.
  • Check the onboard fuse and replace if necessary (3A Slow Blow).
  • Verify that the corresponding TRIAC Board is functional and that the cable connecting the two is functional.
  • Check the station output connectors for corrosion and a strong connection. Also, check the connector pins for corrosion or damage.
  • The switches can sometimes be internally damaged. Wiggle the switch for the corresponding bad station to see if the station will come on intermittently.
  • It is common for the switches to seize, which could prevent the signal from passing through properly. If this is the case, the Switch & Surge Board should be replaced with a new one.

If the issue still exists, troubleshoot the TRIAC Board:

  • Check the fuse to see if it is missing or blown. Replace with a new one if necessary.
  • Swap the suspected malfunctioning TRIAC Board with a known operational TRIAC Board. If the symptoms follow the original TRIAC Board, it should be replaced with a new one.
  • Check for corrison at the connector where the ribbon cable plugs into. Also ensure that the cable is in good shape without any tears or cracks.
  • Check the output contacts on the black connector for debris and corrosion.
