EOSMAC ISSUE:
decoder not communicating with central computer

To power down a Toro E-Series OSMAC system, flip the circuit breaker on the power supply inside the cabinet to the "Off" position.

If the Decoder Module in your Toro E-Series OSMAC cabinet is not communicating with your Central Computer, begin troubleshooting the issue by checking the condition of the Decoder Module.

  1. Check for corrosion on all connectors and pins on the Decoder Module.
  2. Check all parts on the Decoder Module to see if any are hot to the touch.

  3. If the Decoder Module exhibits either of the above issues, we recommend the Decoder Module be sent in for reconditioning. Create a BoardTronics Shipping Label HERE. If the Decoder Module is in good condition, check the communication between the Decoder Module and the 8-Station Output Boards:

  4. Switch the Decoder Module to RESET mode via the onboard switch.
  5. Power down the system, wait five seconds, then power up the system.
  6. Wait another five seconds with the power on, then power down the system again.
  7. Switch the Decoder Module back to normal (NORM) mode and power up the system again. Check to see if the issue has been resolved.
  8. If the issue persists, switch the Decoder Module to TEST mode. Each station will come on and off rapidly. Check for lights on each of the 8-Station Output Boards.
  9. If there is no activity on any of the 8-Station Output Boards, the Decoder Module must be sent in for reconditioning. Create a BoardTronics Shipping Label HERE.
  10. If there is activity on one or more 8-Station Output Boards, any 8-Station Output Boards with no activity must be replaced. Brand new 8-Station Output Boards can be purchased HERE.
