NETWORK 8000 ISSUE: power supply indicator light(s) off, dim, or too bright

To power down a Network 8000 cabinet, remove one of the two main fuses located towards the bottom inside of the cabinet.

This indicates that the voltage(s) associated with the indicator light(s) is/are not correct. This can be caused by a bad Power Supply, or by an overload condition originating in the Faceplate, Modem, Pump Card, Valve Voltage Monitor (if so equipped), or interconnecting cables and/or harnesses. Proper system troubleshooting is essential to determining the source of the trouble.

  • Check Power Supply input and output voltages. Voltage testing instructions can be found HERE.
  • In some instances the interconnecting cable in between the power supply and faceplate could be faulty.
  • If the issue still exists, the power supply must be sent in for reconditioning. Create a UPS shipping label HERE.
  •   Due to its location in the satellite cabinet, the Power Supply is especially prone to water damage from leaking cabinet door weatherstripping. Check for proper water seals and replace as necessary to avoid premature Power Supply failure.
