NETWORK 8000 ISSUE: faceplate dead or experiencing abnormal behavior

To power down a Network 8000 cabinet, remove one of the two main fuses located towards the bottom inside of the cabinet.


  • Check power supply lights. Each of the four lights should be on and have fairly equal intensity. Mismatched light intensity indicates a proplem with one or more Power Supply voltages.
  • Even if the Power Supply lights appear to be properly illuminated there can still be incorrect voltages being produced by the Power Supply, and they should be tested. Voltage check instructions can be found HERE.
  Due the power supply's location in the satellite cabinet, the Power Supply is especially prone to water damage from leaking cabinet door weatherstripping. Check for proper water seals and replace as necessary to avoid premature Power Supply failure.
