NETWORK 8000 ISSUE: faceplate beeping or repeating 2 short beeps or displays not working

To power down a Network 8000 cabinet, remove one of the two main fuses located towards the bottom inside of the cabinet.

Any of these symptoms can indicate a faceplate internal failure, but they can also be caused by another bad component in the cabinet: Bad power supply, poor connection between power supply and faceplate, or an overload caused by a bad Modem PCB, Pump/Common PCB, Valve-Voltage Monitor PCB (if so equipped), Output Distribution PCB (if so equipped), Output Distribution Harness (if so equipped).

  • Check the power supply for functionality per the instructions HERE
  • If the Power Supply is known to be good then try to eliminate some of the other various possible causes in the satellite cabinet
    • Turn off power to the satellite cabinet. This can be done by removing the two fuses located at the bottom of the cabinet.
    • Remove the four faceplate corner mounting screws.
    • Carefully lift the faceplate out of its mounting hole, taking caution not to allow any of the attached ribbon cables to be tightly pulled.
    • Gently unplug the Main Harness and the Modem Cable from the faceplate. [Picture]
    • Set the faceplate back in place in its rectangular mounting hole taking care not to pinch the small ribbon cable leading to the membrane keypad of the faceplate between the plastic from panel and the satellite cabinet.
    • Turn power on to the satellite cabinet by installing the two fuses located at the bottom of the cabinet.
  • If the faceplate now appears to be functional, try reconnecting/inspecting/swapping any of the currently disconnected components with a known good unit one at a time to narrow down the failing component(s).
    • Modem
    • Modem-to-faceplate Ribbon Cable
    • Pump/Common PCB
    • Valve-Voltage Monitor PCB (if so equipped)
    • Output Distribution Harness (if so equipped) or Distribution PCB (if so equipped)
  • If the faceplate still does not function properly with a known good power supply and with the cables unplugged, as described above, then the faceplate is faulty. Send the faceplate in for reconditioning. Create a UPS Shipping Label HERE
