NETWORK VP ISSUE: faceplate reporting wrong number of stations

To power down a Network VP system, flip the circuit breaker on the power supply inside the cabinet to the "Off" position.

  • Remove the Faceplate from the satellite and install it into a different functioning satellite and see if the reported number of stations is correct. If still incorrect, reinitialize the faceplate by following the instructions HERE. If this does not fix the issue, there is an internal problem with the faceplate, and it must be repaired.
  • If the reported number of stations is correct after moving the faceplate to a different satellite, move the Power Distribution Board to the known functioning satellite and check the reported number of stations again. If the reported number of stations in incorrect, the Power Distribution Board must be repaired.
  • If the reported number of stations is correct after moving the Power Distribution Board to a different satellite, move the 8-Station Output Boards, one at a time, to the known functioning satellite and check the reported number of stations after installing each 8-Station Output Board. If the reported number of stations in incorrect after installing any given 8-Station Output Board, then that component must be repaired.
  • Continue testing components from the nonfunctioning satellite, one at a time, in this fashion until the faulty component is found. The component that causes the issue must be repaired.
