  • Check that the faceplate is reading the communications board. On the faceplate, select “System Information”. Press it until you see the IFB and MLB version numbers. If version for the IFB reads “00” send the communications board in for reconditioning. Create a UPS Shipping Label HERE.
  • If there is an IFB number, swap the communications board with a known working one to see if the problem persists.
  • If the replacement does not work, the problem could be with the faceplate.
  • Verify proper power is being supplied to the Power Interface Board. To do this, check for correct AC voltage at connector on the Power Interface Board. Maxi communication uses a 28 volt ac signal. Use an AC voltmeter to test. The voltages should be 8.5V across the two blue wires, and 26.5V between the two orange wires.
    • If no AC volts are present, the problem may be the surge pipe or field wiring.
    • Double-check your satellite address.
    • If the address is correct then the fault is either with the faceplate, the IFB, or the cable connecting them. Replace them one at a time with one from a known working unit until the faulty unit is located. Remove faulty component and send the unit in for reconditioning. Create a UPS Shipping Label HERE.
